Tips for Reducing Holiday Stress from Stone Point Apartments
There’s no doubt about it, December can be a crazy-busy month, which can create stress. We understand that, and today we are sharing some tips about how to take a time out to relax at your Stone Point Apartment here in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.
Listen to Music
When you are feeling stressed out, try taking a break and listening to some relaxing music. Doing this will help your mind refocus and relax. We recommend piano or classical music.
Write it out
Take a moment to sit down and write out what is causing you stress. Just the act of writing it out will help to reduce your stress levels and give you a little relief. Writing out what is stressing you also helps to make your stressors feel more tangible and less like they only exist in your head.
Talk to Someone
Whether it is a trained counselor or just a friend or family member, talking to someone about what is stressing you can be helpful. Getting it out helps to relieve the burden off your back and help you to feel less isolated and alone. The person you talked to may not be able to do much more than provide some words of comfort or encouragement, but having them there just to listen and let you vent can provide the relief that you need.
Yeah, we know you’ve heard it before, but it’s true! Exercise can help relieve stress. We aren’t even talking about an intense workout at the gym, though that might be helpful. Start small by going for a walk around our apartment community. Exercise of any kind helps to release endorphins that will improve your mood and help to relieve stress.
Stress levels tend to increase when you aren’t eating well and when you are stressed you tend to crave fatty and unhealthy foods. Do your body a favor by providing it with plenty of fruits, veggies, grains, and proteins to give you enough energy and brain power to do what you need to do.
Make a body scrub and lotion. Homemade body scrubs and lotions can be so great for your skin. Try this Cinnamon Vanilla Sugar Scrub from The Idea Room. You’ll need these ingredients: coconut or almond oil, raw cane sugar, granulated white sugar, cinnamon essential oil, cinnamon (optional), a jar, and a label. For a great lotion, try out this Lavender-Chamomile Lotion Recipe from Everyday Roots. It’s a perfect option to apply before bed to give you a good night’s sleep.
Drink a calming tea. Chamomile is a relaxing tea and won’t spike your energy with caffeine. Try out other teas that are made for relaxation. Find one that suits you and enjoy it!
We think these tips will help members of our apartment community have a less stressful month. Happy holidays everyone!
